your heater core prob. is leaking or you are being punked by teens!
If it is not actually over heating, then if the smell is outside the car, look for coolant leaks around the head and the thermostat cover. Inside the car could be a leaking heater coil.

A smell inside is usually a bad evaporator coil.
It could be that you have a leaking heater core, which resides inside your car. Another give-away for a leaking core would be a sweet smell inside the car and/or a sticky residue on the inside of your windshield.
You need to replace the battery on your computer. The old one is heating up and leaking fumes.

If it is not slick to the touch it is not oil, transmission fluid, or P/S fluid. So that leaves brake fluid, or windshield washer fluid. Brake fluid does have a slight smell, and may be slightly slick, if you pay close attention. Look at the area it is coming from and this is a clue to what is leaking. Try laying a piece of white paper under the vehicle and see what it looks like on paper. Typical of the heater core leaking. Overheat because of low fluid and pressure. Foggy windshield due to heater core leaking and will smell antifreeze in the car.

If there is a gas smell inside a car the vehicle needs to be inspected for a gas leak. Stop driving the car and look for any holes in the gas tank. Leaking gas can be dangerous and can result in a fatal accident.
