GENERAL TEST PROCEDURES When doing these make sure correct test probes are used to avoid damaging the ECU harness multi-plug terminals. Warning lamp circuit The ECU harness multi-plug may contain a switch function so, if disconnected, the warning lamp will switch on. HOW TO CHECK(refer to fig 2) - Switch the ignition on. - Make sure warning lamp comes on. - If it doesn't, switch off ignition. - Check the fuses. - Disconnect the ECU multi-plug. - Switch the ignition back on. - Check warning lamp comes on. - If it doesn't, switch off ignition. - Bridge the harness multi-plug terminals 19 & 21 for 1997 to 98 models. - Bridge the harness multi-plug terminals 19 & 20 for 1999 onwards models. - Switch the ignition back on. - check if the warning lamp comes on. - If it doesn't again, switch the ignition off again. - Now check the wiring and bulb. |}
