The sending unit on one of the front wheels may be loos or not working properly. Make sure that the connectors to the abs sending units are properly seated.

This is a sign that you need to have the brakes inspected, soon. Worn brakes causes the brake fluid reservoir level to drop causing the brake and abs lights to come on.
The brake system was not that secure
Could be low on brake fluid. If it is low you either needs brakes or you have a leak in the system.
When this happened on our 2001 Malibu it was the sensors at the wheels that were faulty and not the brakes. Somehow they had been incorrectly installed after a previous brake check.
