If you tie any of the speaker wires to ground you will short out the amplifier in the radio. On Ford vehicles the radio outputs are what they call Bridged Tied Loads. The speaker wires are not referenced to ground or battery. If you wish to find out the phasing of the speaker just put a 9 volt battery across the speaker wires and the speaker cone will either advance or retrack. Do this to all the speakers and note what color wir was on the 9 volt battery terminal
