Gasoline (petrol) as sold for use in cars is a mixture of various hydrocarbons in the heptane, octane, nonane range of sizes, both linear and aromatic ring forms. There are also many (often proprietary) additives in this mixture: e.g. detergents, octane rating boosters, oxygenates (ethanol, etc.), stabilizers.

There is no fixed list of its constituents.
