Sounds like the rear caliper or brake piston is not releasing all the way. I would replace this and the rear brakes. It has possibly warped the drum or disk depending on if you have disk brakes or drum in the rear. Good luck.
A flat tire is one possibility
oil filter oil leaking on to exhuast pipe and burning
Fire... Where there is smoke, there is fire.
You probably have a build up of contaminated grease in you steering wheel column. You have to open up the panel under the steering wheel to take out the pieces to clean the grease off with rubbing alcohol or something of the sort. The grease are creating a bridge and causing a short. That is why you smell the burning.
Yes, it is normal, as the tyre, due to friction, becomes hot and so, the burn smell comes out of it.
If the car is a manual and you are riding or slipping the clutch it could be that. Otherwise if you have been real hard on the brakes lately they can create quite a smell aswell.
Smoking from near a wheel points to the brake on that wheel binding. Take the car for a run, when you stop the car touch the wheel with the BACK of your hand QUICKLY. You will know if it is over heating! Also there may well be a burning smell.
A burning smell from the steering wheel, followed by the car stalling, often indicates a serious issue, such as a malfunctioning power steering system or overheating components. The burning smell could be due to overheating fluids or electrical problems, which may lead to a loss of power steering assist. If the car stalls, it could be a result of the engine shutting down due to overheating or electrical failure. It's essential to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic immediately to prevent further damage.
I had that happen on a grand am and it was a bad wheel cylinder on the drivers side wheel in the back and it was leaking fluid and the brake pads were sticking and burning and really never realized it until the snow fell and the rear wheel would lock up when I hit the brake.
It could be an electric problem, IMMEDIATLY GET IT LOOKED AT!!!!
Either the brake is dragging and not releasing or the wheel bearing has failed and is overheating.
