Sounds like you have a coolant leak.
Check your exhaust while running, smells sweet and blueish smoke. Overheating, loss of coolant. Do a compression check.
A compression test. If you see white smoke from the exhaust that smells sweet, you have a blown head gasket or cracked head or both.
It means broken. Blue smoke that smells bad is probably oil. White smoke that smells sweet is probably coolant. Could be a head gasket, blown radiator, oil leaking onto hot exhaust, or something more serious. Basically it's never ever good to see this happen. Time to see a mechanic.
Well white smoke usually means your burning off coolant. It can be caused by a torn head gasket or intake gasket and also by a cracked head or a cracked intake. But if it doesn't smell sweet, and you don't have compression problems, it probably isn't coolant. Supposedly oil can also cause white exhaust smoke and one way is if the oil is overfilled. Here were some other comments...What_can_cause_white_smoke_from_the_exhaust
Black smoke is overly rich fuel/air mixture. Blue smoke is oil burning. White smoke is coolant in the combustion chamber. I have never seen green smoke coming from an auto exhaust. The only thing I would suspect is that this is coolant in the combustion chamber caused by a blown head gasket. If it smells sweet and you are loosing coolant with no apparent leak, then you have a blown head gasket or cracked head.
You will see steam come from the tailpipe in the winter which is caused by the hot exhaust coming from the engine making contact with the cold metal in the exhaust system. This is normal and no cause for alarm. However if the white smoke does not dissipate almost instantly and seems to continue you may have a blown head gasket. If the exhaust smells sweet you almost certainly have a problem and the gasket is blown. A blown gasket will destroy the engine in time. If you are not sure have it looked at by a professional.
Marijuana smoke smells sweet. (Yes, I have actually smelled it.)
Possible blown head gasket. If the exhaust smells & taste sweet, bubbles in radiator, loss of coolant with no apparent leak, coolant in oil & foam on underside of oil cap, you have a blown head gasket.
White smoke in the exhaust, more so on a cold start. That's steam. Water is getting into the combustion chamber. Most likely coolant. Put your hand in the white smoke to capture the odor. (don't burn yourself) What does your hand smell like? Coolant (anti-freeze & water) smells sweet. Likeliest cause = head gasket. Possible = cracked head - depending on how hot it got. Less likely = cracked intake manifold. you have a gasket problem and need to have it looked at immediately
If it smells sweet ,it is coolant, and the heater core has failed. If it smells electrical you have a wiring problem and need to remove whatever is necessary to find cause.
Yes, and it probably is. When it is cold you will always see a small amount of white smoke from the exhaust as the hot exhaust meets the cold air. That is normal and nothing to worry about. However, white smoke from the exhaust can also be a symptom of a blown head gasket. If the smoke smells sweet that is burnt coolant. If you are loosing coolant with no apparent leak, your oil level is overfull, or the engine is overheating, you may have a blown head gasket. If you have none of these symptoms then you have nothing to worry about.
Losing coolant with no apparent leaks, White smoke out the exhaust that has a sweet smell to it,
