What causes a 1986 Subaru ST turbo 2WD to stumble down like its not receiving fuel causing you to have to down shift to get acceleration again?

This happened to my Turbo model as well and was the result of the Turbo going bad. It would essentially stick open and flood out all your power until you down shifted or revved the RPM's. If it happens when the turbo is on I bet this is the problem.
