the timing is 180 degrees out or the firing order is wrong. the firing order is 18436572. I had the same problem when tuning my truck I would check your timing. They tend to throw themselves way off if something is really really wrong. . . . I had the same problem but only with a little 6.5 hp. the intake valve got bent. but 4 u a valve might be stuck or have a hole in it or be cracked or bent to where it doesn't seal
