blowback is caused by different things #1 rings could be worn out or broke, #2piston could have cracked or hole burned in it, #3 egr could be stuck and not allowing positive air flow in crankcase. start with egr first, then do cylinder compression test. egr is cheapest good luck
usually a blown head gasket (most all the time white smoke on a a diesel engine means antifreeze in the combustion chamber)
"Blow-by" is not good for any engine. It indicates worn internal engine parts (rings)
No the compression in a Gasoline is only 8 to 1 in a Diesel it is 22 to 1 so it would blow up
Only gas engines use blow off valves.
If they mix with the wrong things, it can blow out.
Probably blow engine gasoline has a much lower flash point than diesel fuel
Hi there, blue smoke on a diesel motor is normally fuel, and the smell will be unburn diesel, rough start and heavy smoke that will disapear as the engine getshot.
Black smoke is : too much fuel and not enough air, a faulty injector (s). Take out the injectors and have them tested before you do engine damage.
Over heating can blow a head gasket
it loses power it starts knocking or it throws a rod out the side of the block
is this a diesel truck?does this engine have a turbo?if it is a diesel with a turbo,it will blow white smoke when cold till it warms upif it continues to blow smoke check your air filterother reason if it continues to blow smoke is the turbo is about to crater get it checkedalso check engine oil for coolant lossif coolant is leaking into cylanders, this will cause white smoke
YES. But due to carbon build up and blow back within a diesel engine you will still need to keep to your oil change scedual and can not extend it. Diesel oil turns black quickly.
