Motor error on a Medtronic pump can occur due to several factors, including mechanical issues such as a blockage in the infusion set, a damaged or malfunctioning motor, or issues with the pump's internal components. Additionally, improper insertion or kinking of the tubing can lead to pressure changes that trigger an error. Regular maintenance and prompt attention to alerts can help mitigate these problems. If motor errors persist, it is advisable to consult the manufacturer's guidelines or contact customer support.

The is a motor error. The motor is malfunctioning and if you are not familiar with your pump or this error has made your heart race a bit, best thing to do is call Medtronic technical support, regardless how long you have to wait. I've had my current Paradigm 523 pump for over 11 years and I have had the A33 error a number of times. It only occurs when I am topping up my reservoir or changing my infusion set. Temporary solution which has worked for me in the past and just this evening: The motor casing on the end of the pump (on the 512/523,etc) where the Minimed logo is, is shifting. If you have a low battery, try replacing with a brand new battery to put less strain on the motor. Place your thumb over the circle where the motor is, to lightly support, and to ensure the motor doesn't move outward. I can actually see and feel the pump motor shifting slightly. While supporting the motor, press the ACT button to load the reservoir and this normally works. BUT, MAKE SURE YOU CALL MINIMED TECHNICAL SUPPORT! I have to pay all my costs out of pocket so I have learned to take care of my pump and I have been fortunate it has lasted 11 years, but it is now time to order a new pump. THIS IS WHY I HAVE ORDERED A NEW 780G THIS WEEK.
