The auxiliary drive or serpentine belt (not timing belt)being lose or snapping
You are having fan belt problems.
Check your fan/accessory/serpentine belt.
I had a 1999 Grand AM same thing happened to me. A while after that i was driving and the radio lost power, then the power steering. I had the alternator and battey replaced and that fixed the problem.
Alternator Belt has snapped, causing you alternator to stop charging causing you battery light to come on, but this belt also runs your power steering pump which if that's not working your steering will become heavy
why is my escort so light on the power steering
Could be a slipping or broken belt.
Defective battery or something is pulling power from the battery. Check the glove box light, interior lights, trunk light, hood light, brake lights, etc.
Dead cell in the battery itself or something is on pulling power from the battery. A light somewhere or a stuck relay.
Check to make sure the serpentine belt is still in place.
The power steering is electric.....a motor runs it.
no because power steering is a hydrollic assist system
To reset the power assisted steering sensor warning light on a 2007 Skoda Octavia, first ensure that the steering system is functioning correctly. Then, turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery for about 10-15 minutes. Reconnect the battery, start the vehicle, and check if the warning light has cleared. If the light persists, it may indicate a more serious issue needing professional diagnosis.
