Damage to the throttle body is caused by corrosion or direct impacts. A loose connection can cause nearby components to strike and damage the throttle body.
The TPS (throttle position sensor) has gone bad on your throttle body.
A dirty throttle body will cause that.
The throttle position sensor is on the throttle body. That's the part of the engine that controls the amount of air allowed into the engine. To find the throttle body, follow the air intake routing toward the engine. The throttle body is the part that sits on the intake manifold. To find the throttle position sensor, follow the throttle cable to the throttle body. If it helps, have someone press down and release the throttle pedal while you're looking for the throttle body/position sensor. The throttle cable causes a shaft to turn, that's the part that controls the air coming into the engine. The throttle position sensor is connected to that shaft.
If it goes dead when under load like a/c kicks on, then it's highly likey that you need to clean the throttle body. The throttle body is simple to remove. Use throttle body cleaner and clean the back and all ports. Always disconnect the batter before removing throttle body, it will mess up electronic memory if you don't.
It is on the throttle body.It is on the throttle body.
It is your throttle body valve sucking in air and fuel.
It is part of the throttle body itself. It is part of the throttle body itself.
It is on the throttle body.It is on the throttle body.
It's the main body of the carburettor. It forms the air inlet, with a slightly narrow part which causes a vacuum depression due to the venturi effect. The throttle body has all the other parts attached to it, including a controllable flap or restriction, (the throttle). By varying the amount of restriction, (throttle position) the volume of air can be controlled and engine speed and power, controlled.
Assuming you are asking about the throttle position sensor it is mounted on the throttle body and is operated by the throttle shaft.
I had same problem with my 98. Mine was the throttle body area. What happens is the throttle body gets carboned up and makes the accellerator sticky and causes the hesitation... To fix: 1. remove the large rubber intake from throttle body. 2. start engine. 3. spray throttle body cleaner (large amount) inside butterfly area of throttle body as you rev the engine to keep it running. 4. done.
On the throttle body, opposite of the cables. On the throttle body, opposite of the cables.
