A warped rotor may cause the wheels to make noise when reversing. If the rotor is not worn evenly when the car spins the wheels differently it may cause the rotor to scrape.

If it only happens when backing up, you may have the parking brake engaged.

What would cause a grinding noise when turning the steering wheel in a 2004 Volvo S40?

Check the wheel bearings if it is only when you turn, you may want to check the backing plate as if it gets bent or warped, it can rub on the rotor as you turn. I had that problem, and a simple bend into shape and it was fixed.

How do you stop screeching noise on 1998 Ford Explorer only when backing up?

Why would a truck make a wobbling noise when wheels are in motion?

It is difficult to say from your description, but it might be either a bent rim, or a Tire with Ply Separation in the sidewall or tread. However, if there is only a noise, and no FEELING of the wobble, then I would not think these are the causes. In a NOISE ONLY situation, the sound could be from a bad wheel bearing.

Noise coming from abs on 2000 Durango?

I had to change the wheel barring to get the noise to stop that was a quick fix, but the only thing is you have to change the wheel barring on the other side too!

What causes a noise when i turn to the right while stopped on my 92 Saturn?

Only thing i can think of is the power steering. check to see if the fluid is full. If it is, a simple cure is not to turn your wheel all the way :)

When turning left or right both front wheels make rumbling noise?

If your vehicle is front wheel drive, then the most common cause for noise while steering is worn CV joints. Other possible causes on both rear wheel drive and front wheel drives would be worn wheel bearings, loose brake components, or worn ball-joints. The only way to tell for sure is to have the vehicle checked and diagnosed by a professional.

What would cause your car to make a grinding sound while turning your wheel to the right while driving only?

The grinding is a worn CV joint. Get it replaced before it causes more damage! A worn wheel bearing will make the same noise answer worn wheel bearings or worn brake pads will be the cause

What causes a popping noise when you turn your wheel to the right?

If im right about the noise, its your cv joints. You can tell which one it is on hearing which side its coming from. Well I believe its coming from both sides.however i did change the passenger side cv axle but not the driver side.and it only does it when im making a u turn.

What are the symptoms of - or - how do you diagnose a bad front wheel bearing on a Taurus - Sable?

If you hear a noise you suspect is a bad wheel bearing try this. While driving slowly turn the wheel sharply to the left. If the noise goes away your left front wheel bearing is bad. Now, turn sharply to the right. If the noise goes away you right front wheel bearing is bad. The only 100% sure fire way to know for sure is to remove the wheel bearing and inspect it.

The AC works only on the highest settin and when it blows its making a noise what could be the problem?

As for why it blows only on the high speed you most likely will have a bad blower resister and for the noise, it could be a bad blower motor, bad blower wheel or trash that is stuck in the blower wheel or housing.......
