What could be the problem if my lights work but tail lights and the dash lights don't?
The most common causes of the issue you describe includes:
- A connector in that circuit which has become disconnected.
- A buildup of road film or corrosion inside of one of the connectors in the wiring harnesses for that circuit.
- A cut or broken wire in the circuit which causes the circuit to be "open."
- Corrosion in the light switch or a relay [IF there is a relay in the circuit].
- Corrosion at a ground connection at the light assemblies, BUT that would usually only disable one of the headlights, not all.
There probably may be some more causes that I can't think of at the moment.

Usually a fuse. when the fuse blows the dash lights AND tail lights dont work. If your tail lights work and dash lights dont, check bulbs, if all blown at once you may have a shorting problem. If bulbs are good you may have a bad connection. Tracing wires is a big job. Get yourself a good quality test light.

could be a fuse problem, and then again it could be in the switch its self. Make sure your getting contact in your light switch. I dont know if you have a pull switch on your dash or if you have it on a multi function switch on the steering column, but you will need to dig in there and see if your getting juice or not, if the fuse is good.

I dont have an answer but I am having the same problem. My car wouldn't start but when I turned the key, the lights (hazard and dash lights) started blinking. I think it's a warning that the battery is not completely connected. We tightened the clamps (which were very loose) and it stopped.

humm, This is strange because the DRLs (day time running lights) usually function from the same bulb as the headlights, in other words the headlights are always on so people dont forget to turn their lights on at night so if this is the case you have no problem. The only thing that might indicate a problem would be if the dash lights do not come on when the headlights are on, If this is the case then the turn signal switch could be at fault, otherwise I see no problem with the lights. The dash lights and lights to the gear shift panel are grounded through the radio, be sure that the radio plug and ground to radio are connected. If you have taken out the radio you may try grounding the plug wire that connects to the radio lights.
