It is a mechanical part. Sometimes they quit simply because they are worn out. Another reason they sometimes stop is letting your car run to low on fuel.
Blown fuel pump fuse or defective fuel pump relay.
For everything except green plants, which make their own food from light energy, food is what supplies the fuel to keep bodies working. Just like a car with no fuel, a body with no fuel stops working. That is also called being dead.
What year of vehical and make?
Well they had this idea to make fuel out of algae but they are working on it . :)
Fuel, or spark. Also could be something else, but start at the beginning.
First thing is to determined where the bang came from. It may be a fuel leak. Did it catch fire or just make a loud sound? Sounds like the fuel pump's gone.
There wont be any fuel on the plugs. Crank it over a couple times and then pull one or two out. If there is no fuel on them then your not getting any fuel from the pump. Check to make sure the fuel relay hasn't just gone out first. Just replace it. That way it rules it out definitely. Good luck. the fuel may evaporate because of the compression. crank it over a few times and if it is working you will smell it. also if you have good ears when the ignition is set to "on" you can hear the fuel pump priming the fuel system.
It takes four things to make a car run fuel, compression, air,& spark. It could be a fuel pump, crank sensor, need more info for further diagnosis symptoms ?
Check that there is no air in the fuel lines and make sure the spark plug is working. Those 2 could contribute to this problem.
It could be that the gauge itself is not working, or it could be a bad sensor. The sensor in older cars is a float which could become stuck, especially if the tank was emptied completely. A blown fuse for the instrument panel will make the tank show empty (or full in some cars). If the car is still not running and the tank shows empty while it is really full, then the fuel pump may be defective. You could not have filled it up all the way.
their really is not a specific fuel octane mix. if you just run premium in it, it will be fine, but if you do put octane in, just put a little bit in it. because it could make your fuel too rich and foul out your spark plugs.
Fuel... either you ran out or the pump stoped working, it could also me that the alternater failed and the battery died.
The easiet thing to try first is the fuel filter if that is not it then check the carb or fuel injectors the make sure they are all working properly, the other thing that it could be is the catalicic converter. Good luck
