positive crankcase ventilation
The acronym PCV in medicine may stand for packed cell volume, pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, or phenoxymethylpenicillin. In the automotive industry PVC means pressure control valve.
If you stand facing the engine, the PCV valve is on the left side top of the engine near the back. It is connected to a short (6 inch) tube. It's difficult to get at, but you can see it and get at it if you reach back in and use a flashlight.
Disconnect the PCV valve tube from the PCV valve.Disconnect the PCV valve electrical connector if it has one.Turn the PCV valve counterclockwise to remove from the valve cover. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Pull upward on the hose that the PCV valve is in. The PCV valve will pull out of the hose. The PCV valve is located in the valve cover.
Remove the PCV valve retaining screws. Remove the PCV valve hose. Reverse the process to install the new PCV valve.
Well, keep in mind I'm not a mechanic. I think you mean a PCV valve, not a PVC valve. PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. A system using a PCV valve evacuates gases from an engine's crankcase, and I believe they always go on top of the crankcase. It's purpose is for fuel economy and the environment. The PCV valve has a check ball in it, That's what you are hearing. REPLACE PCV VALVE
pcv valves are always located on valve covers (but not all vehicles have pcv valves)
There is no PCV plumbing there is how ever PVC piping and fittings
Diesels generally do not have pcv.
PCV is positive crankcase ventilation
On my 1994 with a 3.8liter. i found it by popping the plastic shield off the area above the fuel injectors. saw a vertical stand pipe with a plastic cap. tiny letters "pcv" on it. removed the cap by giving it a 1/8 turn with a 3/8in drive. carefully, look to see which way it goes. you can just see the top of the pcv down in the pipe. needle nose to get it out. carefully note the o-rings on the old one. may need to use one of them on the new pcv.
