Flywheels rarely go bad. A flywheel is simply a balanced disc that helps keep the engine in balance and smooths it out. It is also a component where the drivetrain/transmission connects to the engine.
I have seen a few crack but it is rare. If that were the case, it would knock lightly, mostly at idle.
The gear for the starter to engage in sometimes has a problem with broken or rounded off gears or the bolts attaching it to the torque converter/drive train components can come loose causing a knocking sound.
Usually when a wheel bearing goes bad, it will begin to make a high pitch noise like a bad humming sound and the sound increases as the speed of the vehicle increases. Take it to a shop and find out if they will check it for you.
If the noise stops when the car stops, it's in the wheels. If it sounds like a roaring sound, it's a wheel bearing that needs replaced. If it sound like "Whoop..whoop..whoop.." it's a bad tire...
A bad wheel bearing does not sound like a jet engine. It is more of a grinding noise. If you only hear this during acceleration, I would suspect your breather intake is loose or disconnected. Unload the bearings by swerving right and left. If the noise disappears then you may indeed have a bad bearing. In other words if you swerve right and the noise disappears, suspect a bad right wheel bearing, etc.
When a timing belt is going bad it can make a high-pitched screeching sound. It can sound like a high-pitch whirring noise. Not all timing belts make a noise when they are worn or going bad.
Noise when the wheel is turning or wo-wo-wo-wo sound when driving.
Im not sure if the sound is from the wheel bearing, but my car is making a weird sound when I accelerate. It sounds like a dying cat. Or a little bird whistling. Just got the price tag on my back right wheel bearing, $475. It sounds like a loud vibration/rubbing sound, very noisy. At first I thought my muffler was going bad.
"Clicking" sound could be a bad cv joint
A broken strut will cause a bumping sound when the wheel hits a pothole or bump. It will also make the same sound if the wheel spins under hard acceleration.
A bad bottom bracket on a bicycle can sound like a creaking or grinding noise when the bike is in motion.
as far as the humming noise and the grinding noise it sounds like your power steering pump is either out of fluid or gone bad completely. as for the muffler? ?MAYBE? the strain from the bad power steering pump is overworking the engine causing it to make noise? answer definetly a bad steering pump as for muffler, the sound can be transfred and magnified on a car, replace steering pump before bothering about the muffler sound may be gone
Noise.
Sounds like it could be a bad wheel bearing
