A ugly dark colored gunk around the cap on radiator and on the refill tank. Wipe it with a paper towel and you can tell it is oil. That can mean alot of different things - need to get it checked out.
When mixed with coolant in the radiator it tends to look like a chocolate milkshake.
There are several symptoms to look for with a blown head gasket 1. there is water in the oil. oil will look like chocolate milk 2. there is oil in the water 3. there are bubles in your radiator. looks like a fish tank which means your loosing compression into your radiator 4. loosing a lot of coolant out of your radiator but you can't find a leak, which means your gasket is blown on the exhaust side and your blowing coolant out your exhaust
sounds like a leaking head gasket have a pressure chek done on cylinders and cooling system
If your radiator blows it will not hold any liquid
Depends. A radiator in a car looks different from a heating radiator in a building. Which one?
Yes... If you look at the drivers side of the engine down by the oil filter you will see to lines that run up to the radiator. those are the oil cooler lines.
there's no way gearbox oil/transmission oil can get in the radiator... only the engine oil can. this usually will happen if the cylinder head is cracked or the cylinder head gasket has failed. However, Transmission fluid can get into your coolant, by means of a corroded internal transmission cooling line, which is inside the radiator of many model automobiles and trucks... it will look somewhat like pepto bismol at the cap..
if water is getting in the oil you have a blown head gasket take it to a mechanic if you are just getting condensation which will look like oil and water sludge on inside of radiator cap, there is not much that can be done about that
Some vehicles run oil line through the radiator for cooling, instead of using seperate oil cooler, which just looks like a mini radiator.
Most drain plugs are on the bottom of the radiator they are called (pee-cocks). Some look like a wing-nut and sometime they look like bolts. It would be best if you look near the bottom on the radiator on either sides of the radiator for the drain plugs. I
A cracked radiator will NOT put water in the engine and make the oil milky. A bad head gasket WILL put water in the engine and make the oil look milky. That does not neccessarily mean you have a bad engine. Have someone fix or replace the radiator and replace the head gasket. It could be a good engine for a long time yet
Not likely. It does however have a cooler for the transmission fluid built into the radiator. Take a look and see.
