Chances are, if it's a passenger car or minivan, you have "rack and pinion steering". And if that's the case it means your rack is leaking badly. Get it replaced or it could become dangerous to your braking, and you could lose all steering.

No, Kia power steering fluid is not exchangeable with its transmission fluid. These are two completely different fluids mean for completely different part of the car.
There may not be visible leaks, however, that does not mean that there is not a leak. A mechanic will need to run dye through the hose to determine where it is leaking.
the car may be low on power steering fluid
If your power steering fluid is dark brown it means that it has been contaminated. Metal or rubber has gotten into the fluid if it is dark brown or black. This can and will impact your vehicle's performance.
It may mean your power steering fluid is low, or needs serviced.
Power steering fluid is low, or sensor fault
It could mean it's time to change the fluid in the power steering system. This is best done by a professional shop that can properly flush and purge the system. I would advise spending a few dollars extra for SYNTHETIC power steering fluid as it lasts longer. Your vehicle should never "use up" power steering fluid. If it's low you have a leak somewhere and it needs to be addressed ASAP. If you let the power steering pump run with low fluid you will ruin the pump very quickly.
fluid is a lubricant of transmission
I don't know what you mean by " specs ' for p\s fluid. If you are talking about what to use,I suggest Power steering fluid. You can substitute trany fluid, but it has a tendency to foam. In " normal " steering systems this isn't awful, but in a rack and pinion system it could cause problems.
