You have a broken serpentine belt. Replace it.
Overheat he battery to the point of busting it.
The battery becomes hot
The energy wheres Out and becomes a liquid. You can cut open a battery after it Doesent wOrk a see the liquid.
None of the belt driven accessories will work : water pump ( and non electric fan )will not turn - so vehicle would eventually overheat power steering pump wil not pump - so no power steering alternator will not turn - so battery would not be charging air conditioning compressor will not turn - so no air conditioning etc.
When a battery is submerged in water, it can cause a short circuit, leading to the release of harmful chemicals and potentially causing the battery to overheat, leak, or even explode. It is important to avoid submerging batteries in water to prevent these dangerous outcomes.
Your engine will overheat and if the belt also drives the P/S pump you will loose your power steering making the vehicle extremely difficult to steer.
(Charging System , AC , Power Steering)Fails Continued driving will cause Engine to Overheat . Risk of Serious Damage !
If the anode and cathode of a battery touch, it creates a short circuit. This can lead to a rapid discharge of energy from the battery, potentially causing it to overheat, leak, or even explode. It is important to keep the anode and cathode separated to ensure safe operation of the battery.
when serpentine belt comes off, you will loose power steering, the alternator will stop charging the battery and the water pump will stop circulating coolant so you will have a flat battery in an overheated engine and very little steering capability
The engine will overheat.
i wish there was an answer here. this just has happened to me on my 2001 dodge neon. while i was driving the battery light flicked on and at the same time my power steering locked making it difficult to turn... i dont know what to do im still researching for answers.
