Dexron 1 was introduced in the 60's and banned in the 70's because it contained whale oil. if you can get your hands on a bottle, go crazy.
If it is a A/T Powerglide, you can use Dexron or a synthetic such as Mobil 1 ATF. You may not be able to find Dexron, but you can use Dexron II or Dexron III.
5 Qts Dexron III
Dexron 1 2 or 3
Mobil 1 ATF formulated for Mercon/Dexron III is good, but anything that is certified as "Mercon/Dexron III" compatible should be ok.
ATF Z-1 is not the same as Dexron III. Z-1 is a Honda specific fluid that is manufactured only for Honda transmissions. There are similarities in makeup of the two products, but the Dexron III will not meet the same performance criteria as the Z-1. Honda manufactures their own transmissions and for this reason, has developed their own ATF. For more information, contact your local Honda dealer.
When adding fluids to the car it is important to add the right type of fluids. A 2002 Saturn sc2 uses Dexron-III/Mercon transmission fluid.
depends on its use. using as a transmission fluid probably not use what the manufacturer suggest. As for use in a pump the answer would be yes.
Time for a rebuild.
Direct bolt in NO. The only transmission you can put in that truck/ year is, The 1/2 tons MUST have the 4L60E put in it. The 3/4 Tons MUST have the 4L80E put in it. If you put anything else it it, Then you will have NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH THE RUNNING OF THE ENGINE AND SHIFTING OF THE TRANSMISSION.
NO. That year truck MUST have the 4L60E transmission put back in it if it is a 1/2 ton. The 3/4 tons MUST Have the 4L80E put in them. The ONLY 2 years that will work in you truck is 96 and 97 transmission.
There's ONLY 1. That is the 4L60E transmission because of the computer system that the 93 has in it. 4-wheel and 2-wheel drive transmissions will NOT interchange.
These are the ONLY ONES that will work. If it is a 1/2 ton then it MUST have the 4L60E put in it. The 3/4 tons MUST have the 4L80E put in them. Yours is a 1/2 ton.
