80w90 The 2004 Rubicon rear differential uses 75W140 synthetic oil. On each side of the differential cover plate is a tag listing specific numbers for the differential. One of the tags lists the lubricant installed by the manufacturer. I also have a 2004 Rubicon and the rear differential on mine uses 75W140 synthetic oil plus 4 oz of limited slip lube. The front differential lists only 80W90 oil with no limited slip lube.

To change the differential oil in a 2004 Subaru Forester, first, lift the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Locate the differential drain plug at the bottom and remove it to drain the old oil into a container. After draining, replace the drain plug and remove the fill plug on the side of the differential. Use a pump to fill the differential with new oil until it reaches the fill hole, then replace the fill plug securely.

To check the differential oil level on a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor, locate the differential housing, which is typically found near the rear axle. Look for the fill plug, usually located on the side of the differential. Remove the plug and check if the oil level is at or just below the bottom of the fill hole; you can use your finger to feel the oil level. If it's low, add the appropriate differential oil until it reaches the correct level, then securely replace the fill plug.

The differential in a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria typically holds about 2.5 to 3 quarts of gear oil. It’s important to check the owner's manual or the service specifications for the exact capacity, as it can vary slightly depending on the specific model and whether it has a limited-slip differential. Always use the recommended gear oil type for optimal performance.
