Depends upon how it is being used.
For turbocharged auto engines, one should use Synthetic oil
Regular grade oil can be used in all other applications.
Oil analysis tells the true answer here. Given the same engine in good working order and doing an analysis of each the synthetic oil will have a much better analysis and show less deterioration than the equivalant petroleum based oil. Synthetic oil can be left in for longer change intervals than petroleum based oils because they handle high temps of todays engines far better. I agree with the above and would use nothing but full synthetic in a turbo charged engine. The turbo fan spins upwards of 20,000 RPM, gets extremely hot and will break down petroleum oil quick.
Synthetic oil or a blend of Synthetic and regular oil is much better for your vehicle than regular oil alone. Synthetic oil is MUCH more expenshive. If you change your regular oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles I will be fine.
No contest. -Synthetic oil is way better, but can you afford it. -I think using regular oil and changing every 3,000 is better.
Synthetic is better at very low and very high temperatures.
its the same process as changing synthetic oil, except you use regular oil.
motor oil, of any kind, would kill most plants
Yes, you can. It is even sold as a Synthetic Blend.
Yes you can.
Yes.
i use 10w30 synthetic oil in mine, or u can just use 10w30 regular oil but the synthetic lubricates better and i notice that the engine makes less noise when i use synthetic
unless you in a 80's car yes but there no need to because synthetic is so much better
Yes but once you do there is no turning back and no mixing regular motor oil ever again with the synthetic oil....only straight synthetic....or use semi synthetic....now that can be mixed with regular motor oil in a pinch.
Synthetic is 100% synthetic. There are blends sold that are part synthetic & regular oil. Look for a quart that sates FULL or 100% Synthetic. If it says Synthetic Blend then it is not 100% Synthetic.Synthetic is 100% synthetic. There are blends sold that are part synthetic & regular oil. Look for a quart that sates FULL or 100% Synthetic.
