Check the sidewall markings. For example, it might say: "205/55 R16 91H" For circumference, you need the first three numbers. (The last number is the weight rating, the last letter is the speed rating. The "R" means radial, which all modern tires are.)
205 is the width in mm
55 is the ratio of the sidewall height in percentage of the width. (IOW: 55% of 205 mm)
16 is the wheel diameter in inches
First convert the tire width to inches:
205 / 25.4 = 8.07 in
Then get the sidewall height:
8.07 * 55% = 4.44 in
The diameter of the tire is the wheel diameter plus two sidewall heights:
16 + 4.44 + 4.44 = 24.88 in
Finally, circumference is 2 * Pi * radius, or pi * diameter:
3.14 * 24.88 = 78.1 in
In one formula, the above would be:
( (205/25.4 * 55/100 * 2) + 16) * PI()
Also, there are many online calculators that will calculate all this for you.
Circumference will equal diameter times pi. Multiply the diameter by 3.14
circumference of the tire.
no circumference same
if you have this car, YOU can measure it; make a small mark on the tire & the ground (try chalk) & have someone inch the car forsard. once the mark on the tire is exactly in the middle (touching the ground) make another mark on the ground. measure the distance & voila
The equation for circumference is Pi(diameter), so the exact value of the circumference of a tire with a 29 inch diameter is 29pi.
The diameter of this size tire is 24.9 inches and the circumference is 78.3 inches.
The tire's radius is 23.9 inches.
Assume the tire has the shape of the circle, in that case, you just multiply the radius by 2 x pi to get the circumference.
It is 72 km per hour.
Circumference of a circle: 2*pi*radius or pi*diameter (pi=3.14159...) Traveled distance = number of revolutions * circumference of tire To increase the distance you can either increase the number of revolutions or the circumference of the tire. Ex: Tire diameter = 1 meter => circumference = 3.14159 * 1 = 3.14159 meters So if you drive from home to Wendy's and the wheel spins 1000 times totally it means that you've traveled a distance of: 3.14159 * 1000 = 3141.59 meters
Circumference = 2*pi*radius or diameter*pi
circumference = diameter × π → diameter = circumference ÷ π Circumference of tyre = distance/rotations = 1320 ft / 180 = 7 1/3 ft → diameter = 7 1/3 ft ÷ π ≈ 2.33 ft
