The exhaust manifold torquing sequence for a Toyota 22R engine typically starts from the center bolts and works outward in a crisscross pattern. This helps ensure even pressure across the manifold. The torque specification is usually around 18-22 ft-lbs, but it's essential to refer to a specific service manual for the exact sequence and torque values. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines for the best results.
19 lbs on the studs, and 30 on the nuts.
Are you trying to imitate Transformers or something?
It sits on top of the exhaust manifold on the driver's side of the engine. It looks kinda like a spark plug, with a single wire. It's in the same place on all 22r series engines.
On most engines including the 22r/22re the intake valve is bigger than the exhaust.peace
the book says to remove the head bolts gradually. In 2 or three increments and a certain order to prevent damage to aluminum head. the proper torque sequence follows... looking from the driers side... Passenger side- 10 4 2 5 7 Drivers side - 8 6 1 3 9 ( rear of engine) I believe the propper torque is listed as 36-46 Ft-lbs
same direction and forward.
get specs from your local librarys technical isle look up specs and tightening sequence.
1985 was the last year of the rear wheel drive celicas. As far as I know, no front wheel drive celica used the 22r motor. If it truly is a 22R motor it will fit the pickup, provided the pickup has a 22R motor. Some of the later ones have a different 4 cylinder or V6 motors. Of course, the induction and exhaust systems will be different in the car and pickup, but those from the pickup should bolt to the replacement 22R motor.
The fuel filter is bolted to the engine block under the passenger side exhaust manifold. The engine must be cool to change the fuel filter. Some are mounted to the frame just over the passenger side rear tire. it slides into a C-shaped clamp with 2 fuel lines attached to the top of the filter: one inlet and one outlet Didn't Toyota discontinue the 22R in 1991?
.2mm for intake and .3mm exhaust. or .008in and .012in when the motor is warm. not sure for cold motor.
Sorry, but what is a 22r ?
Follow your upper radiator hose between your valve cover and intake manifold. It's right there secured by two 10mm bolts.
