Start with number 1 cylinder in the same place as a standard rotation motor, then use the same firing order as the standard, but in a counterclockwise pattern. Just did this on mine and it works !!

What is the firing order for 1995 Ford Aerostar 30L and direction of rotation on distributor?"
To reverse the rotation of your engine you will need to reverse the firing order of your spark-plugs. You can do this either on the distributer or on the engine itself. After that you will need to have a new cam made to match your new reversed cylinder firing order to allow air to enter and exit each cylinder appropriately. Now you will be abled to drive your car foreward by putting the transmission in reverse, any other gear will make the car move in reverse.

Rotation 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2Reverse Rotation 2-7-5-6-3-4-8-1this firing order goes with GM 305(5.0) 350(5.7L) 383(6.1L) 454(7.4L)And some marine engines have both firing orders on the Cap.New answer- All V8 Chevy engine Distributors turn clock wise, And the fireing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2Best and correct answer: The distributor turns clockwise and the firing order is 1-2-7-5-6-3-4-8. The cam shaft lobes are different than a left hand engine and it uses a cam gear to turn camshaft the correct rotation . If not the oil pump and distributor would turn CCW and it would not pump oil. Also the pistons are reversed as the notch goes toward flywheel end instead of balancer.
Chrysler didn't have a 400 Cu In motor in 1963. The 400 didn't come along until 1972. So with that in mind, I suspect you either have a 383 or quite possibly a 400 that someone swapped in. In any event, the firing order for all Mopar V-8's (with the exception being reverse firing marine engines), is a counter clockwise rotation of 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.
