Chico State and SFSU are both great schools. However, determining which school is better depends on the course of study that you are interested in. You should do a thorough research before choosing a school to attend.
I am a MSW student at SFSU and I have just completed my first year study. From the school of social work office, I got to know this informal statistic from the receptionist lady: For Fall 2008 SFSU MSW admission: 64 students received admission out of 560 (1:9 ratio) For Fall 2009 the admission it's about 1:11 ratio as more people applied this year. SFSU school of social work tend to enroll less fresh graduates from Bachelor of Social Work, and they do prefer to select applicant who have accumulated minimum three years of work experiences.
