The part number would be assigned by any number of equipment manufacturers that have used thes pumps, for instance the Bolens part number for a 5120h is 1745147. The model number for an Eaton 11 is stamped on it, this number begins with 1100 this identifys it as a model 11 and the next three numbers are the specific unit configuration. there are at least a dozen different configurations. Eaton may be able to provide you with a new pump or rebuild kit provided you have the model and configuration number

What kind of oil do you use in your hydrostatic transmission for my 4212 simplicity lawn mower?

I had the same problem When I bought my mower I put premium hydraulic oil in it. It would move until it warmed up. then would slip. I thought I was going to have to buy a new drive. I finally got in touch with an engineer at Eaton Hydrostatic, the place that makes the hydro units, and he asked me what oil I was using. I told him premium hydraulic oil. He said "No wonder. You need to use 30 weight motor oil." I haven't had any trouble since. My mower is a 4211 Hydro, with an Eaton Model 6 Hydro unit that is attached to a peerless drive unit. So if your unit is an Eaton Model 6 or 7, use 30 weight motor oil in it.

Make sure to return the lever to its original position before operating the mower again to ensure normal driving functionality. Always refer to the operator's manual for specific instructions related to your model.

How do you downshift an Eaton shifter?

Depends on what model it is. Eaton makes both synchromesh and unsynchronized transmissions. The synchromesh transmissions (6 and 7 speed) shift like a regular car or light truck transmission.. push in the clutch, downshift. Unsynchronized transmissions, you take the transmission out of gear, rev the engine up the appropriate RPMs, then push it into the next gear down. This requires you to hit the RPMs right.
