it's in the trunk next to the spare tire
that is correct, the battery is in the trunk under the removable slat and next to the spare tire.....but...that wasn't the question, I believe. Unfortunately, I have had recent similar issues with trying to find a battery for my 2006 Cobalt for under $110.00. Walmart does not carry one, Auto Zone and O'Reilley's carry only 1 type and they just happen to be the "Gold" models which translates to "Gold" prices and the cheapest between those two was $111.00. I'm considering going to salvage yard and seeing if I can find one to pull. I'm not sure what the dillemma is with the Cobalt and its "special" battery classification but you would think it was Corvette under these circumstances. Let me know if you can find one that's reasonable. Hope your luck is better than mine.
Look in your owners manual or call the Chevy dealer.
You might want to check with your local Chevy dealer. I believe that your battery should still be under warranty (5-year).
The 2006 Chevy Cobalt typically uses a Group Size 47 battery. This battery has a standard capacity of around 70-75 amp-hours and is designed to fit the specific requirements of the vehicle's electrical system. Always check the owner's manual or consult with a professional for specific recommendations and compatibility.
