There are three separate fuel lines on the Poulan 2700 with Walbro HDA-49 carb:

# The input line (with fuel filter at the tank-end) that runs from inside the tank- through the smaller diameter hole in the top of the fuel tank- and to the carb input line on the side near the linkage. This is roughly 5 or 6" long. # The impulse line that runs from the top of the carb, behind it, and to the back of the crankcase (there is a spring-clip connection on the back of the crankcase). This is also roughly 5-6" long. # The vent line that comes out of the larger diameter hole in the top of the fuel tank. This line consist of: a rubber, duck-bill shaped check valve, a plastic connector barbed on either side of a flange, the short section of fuel hose, and a stone-like plug. The rubber valve is inserted on to one of the barbed ends of the plastic connector. The small fuel line section (approx 2.5-3" long) is attached to the other barbed end of the connector, and run through the larger hole from inside the tank-out. The other end of the fuel tank vent line is where the stone-like plug is inserted- to prevent dirt, debris, etc. from entering the fuel tank as the line draws in air.
