Also check to see if the drainage hole is blocked. You may also need to clean you air filter as if blocked... moisture can soak the filter also causing a smell.

If this is a "whole house" A/C then there is probably blockage in the condensation drainage lines, clean out the line to assure adequate drainage. If you have a pump for the condensation water then add a small amount of bleach to the pump reservoir.
