It would be Toyota type IV or WS fluid. Recommend you purchase from the Toyota dealer. The Toyota dealership parts store can tell you which one is for your model / powertrain. Type IV transmission fluid (possibly Mobil 3309 ATF) Mobil 3309 meets Type IV requirements. Not sure which company and type the WS ATF is. I would assume Mobil Oil as well, but is a different transmission fluid from Type IV.

To change the automatic transmission fluid on a 2002 Toyota Highlander, start by warming up the engine and then turn it off. Place a drain pan under the transmission pan, remove the pan bolts, and allow the old fluid to drain completely. Replace the transmission filter if applicable, clean the pan, and reinstall it with a new gasket. Finally, fill the transmission with new fluid through the dipstick tube, using the recommended type and amount, and check the level with the engine running.

To check the transmission fluid on a 2012 Toyota Highlander, first ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is running at idle. Locate the transmission dipstick, which is usually found near the back of the engine bay. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it fully, then remove it again to check the fluid level; it should be between the "full" and "add" marks. If needed, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.
Automatics all use ATF+4. The manual in the wrangler uses a special manual transmission fluid from the dealer.
