Disconnect the battery for about 10-15 minutes resets the computer, and that means no Check Engine Light after you have fixed/ replaced what was wrong.
According to Gates ( they make timing belts etc. ) the 3.0 L - V6 engine in a 1993 Dodge Spirit is NOT an interference engine ( it does use a TIMING BELT )

It's mounted to the engine block and can be accessed from underneath the vehicle. You may need to remove the heat shield and some other components for easier access during replacement or maintenance.
