10W40 motorcycle and ATV oil for a stock motor, you can use 20W50 if you are running competition or it's REALLY hot where you live. Don't run 20W50 in a cooler climate, it's too thick. Also, don't use automotive engine oil, the clutches and the transmission need the proper additives found in motorcycle oil to work correctly
