Pressure and return lines that goto radiator and or transmission cooler to keep the ATF chilled off.
yes, anytime you have to take a radiator out of an automatic car the tranny lines have to come off the radiator.
a bad radiator -automatic portion of radiator not cooling off transmission
More likely it has something to do with pressure problems in your transmission, check the fluid and replace the transmission filter. If the problem is not fixed check the vaccum lines running to the transmission and the vaccum off the engine.
All automatic transmissions have a PUMP in the front of them right behind the torque converter. Transmissions are designed to cool off by using transmission lines running from the transmission to the VEHICLE Radiator to cool the transmission fluid.
It is located on the left side of the transmission right next to the shift lever just above the oil pan. There will be a small vacuum line coming off of it.
I have an 1993 ford ranger xlt super cab i replased the trasmition lines due to rust the are not the eastist things to replase (on 4x4) due to the front (dana 35) front axle , and you may have to remove the oil filter to get to the strap that the lines run through. you might have to get creative (i had to cut my 5/8 line renches in half). because of the location of where the lines are attached to the transmition.
There is none for an automatic transmission. You will have to drop (take off) the transmission fluid pan to drain it.
The bell housing does not come off of the automatic transmission. The bell housing does not come off of the automatic transmission.
i need a vacuum line diagram for a dodge 1500 4x4 automatic transmission, where does the large vacuum line coming off the top of the transmission hook up to The large hose coming off of the top of the tranny is only a vent hose, it is hooked to a braket that is bolted to the top of the bellhousing, trust me I am a professional
The transmission does not have a drain plug. You have to drop the transmission oil pan on an automatic or you can suck the old oil out if is a manual transmission. If it is an automatic, change the filter while you have the pan off.
remove it
Leaning over the top of the radiator it should have 2 medal transmission cooler lines on the left side of it. If it has a engine oil cooler then it will have 2 big lines on the right side of the radiator too. That makes 4 lines.
