That's a good question because batterie, good or bad usually never make noises of any kind. On the other hand I once left a battery charging on a 10 amp cycle for two days because I had forgotten about it. As I approached the vehicle I heard a faint sizzling sound. I unhooked the charger and went to start it. When I turned the key the battery exploded blowing off most of the top,and sending battery acid up & out in every direction.
unless real bad usaully do not make a noise but give bad vibration.
Bad battery, corroded battery connectors, weak charging system.
The dc converter inside may be going bad. It charges the back up battery, when the battery is full it has to burn off the extra energy and goes bad over time.
The 2001 Nissan Altima GXE might make a clicking noise and then turn off because of a bad solenoid or bad starter. This sound could also be due to a weak battery.
A bad cv joint/axle shaft on the front will make a clicking noise when turning.
A bad throw out bearing will make noise when the clutch pedal is pushed down.
Several possibilities: 1) battery does not have enough voltage to turn the starter; 2) faulty starter motor; bad battery connection.
If bearings go bad on a alternator/ will make a grindind noise or long squilling noise.. but if only electronic's inside alternator are damage no noise wil be heard
If your battery has a full charge, and NO noise is heard. It is most likely a lose or broken wire from the battery to ignition switch or from ignition switch to solenoid. A bad neutral switch may also be the problem or a blown fuse. A clicking noise would indicate bad solenoid contacts or a low battery charge. Although the a solenoid may be at fault, the other reasons are more likely. Note: On cars without automatic transmissions, check the clutch interlock switch.
Yes they can make a grinding noise, if they are bad.
sounds like the alternator is going bad.
If the noise is caused by a Mechanical problem, disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it will do NOTHING to fix the problem.
