Lack of power mine was clogged and would start and die lots of back pressure ,to check it i took out 2 spark plugs started it and it ran longer but you could here the back pressure coming out of the spark plug holes , you should just loosen the manifold header pipe and see if it will keep running if it does chances are exaust is plugged up
Bad catalytic convertor(s) is a possibility.
Usually it caused by bad rings or valves. Too much fuel being delivered will also cause this. These conditions will eventually cause catalytic convertor problems later. black smoke is carbaration blue smoke is burning oil

It sounds like you have a bad catalytic convertor. They can be pretty expensive to replace and they are not repairable. The guy at your local muffler shop can check it for sure.
