All you need are 6.5s. You can get components or normal. I replaced ALL 4 of my 6.5s with ALPINE type Rs- and if you crank them a little to high you may blow an eardrum. Lol. I have them wired directly to my Jensen VM9512 indash tv with built in equalizer, all i can say is awesome. If you wire them to an amp you will have the best sound out there. I have tried all 4 to a Rockford Fosgate old skool punch 200x4 amp and they are massive! you can here the VERY faint music 3 city blocks away! I couldn't believe it until i heard it for myself- but that is rediculous UNLESS you want SERIOUS competition and blown ears. I have tried them on a boss 200x4 with built in cross over and there is ALOT BETTER sound quality but not as loud as the punch.
For a 2000 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab 4 dr 4x4 Z71 Front 6.5/6.75 inch speaker remove door panel and then install new speaker reattach panel. Rear 4x6 inch speaker remove rear door panel and install new speaker reattach panel.
Yes the door panel must be removed to gain access to the speakers. Just replace them It will sound better.
Take door panel off then it's as easy as 1-2-3
Mine quit too. I think they are blown. I heard they are crap. Not sure if I have to pull the door panel or just the grill. Working on it today and I will let you know if I can figure it out.
The front door speakers in the 2001 Silverado 1500 HD Crew Cab measure 6 3/4 inches. The rear side panel speakers measure 4 inches by 6 inches.
Remove the rear door panel.

It doesn't use/require a fuse panel.
i wish somebody knew this answer...im struggling
The audio signal to the speakers are not cut off since the connection to the front panel and speakers are in parallel.
They are 6 1/2 inch in the front door panels. If its an extended cab the rears are 4 x 6 inch. Let me tell you from experience replacing the rear speakers in a 97 extended cab is a pain, but can be done. Be cafeful not to break the panel clips then your panels will vibrate when the speakers are turned up.
I believe In the silverado door panel the steel mesh that surrounds the speakers should easily pop out with a flat head screw driver, then if you unscrew the four screws around the speaker you can drop them out threw the hole to work or replace them.
