The FADEC already has power prior to engine start. In fact it controls the entire start sequence. It receives power under normal starting conditions via an ECBU ; the acft will have power from either an external source, the APU, or an operating engine. The alternator stator provides power to the FADEC once the engine reaches 10% NG. This way the engine is entirely self sustaining once started and during the majority of start sequence. Should the alternator stators fail, power is then given from the ECBU again (28v DC power source).

You recently replaced the battery and alternator on your 96 rodeo now the battery light is on on the dash faintly why?

The voltage regulator (which is inside the alternator) on 97 rodeo's are controlled via the PCM/ECM (Power Control Module/Engine Control Module). A remanufactured alternator for the 97 Rodeo as well as the 97 Passport (Honda), usually will fhow failure while tested in car. On the bench test, however, the alternator tests normal. Aside of the normal problems to be ruled out, ie; alternator belt tension, check for loose connections within and around the alternator, try an original factory alternator. Is this problem affecting your blower motor?

Have replaced alternator twice on 1999 zx2is this common?

Depending on how long the interval was between alternator changes. Less than a year and I would look for warranty on the alternator. Now there are factors beyond the alternator manufacturers control. A battery that is on it's last legs will take out an alternator really fast. A stereo system with a large Amp(s) will also shorten the life of an alternator drastically. These situations will not be a warranty issue.

Why alternators are connected in parallel?

If alternators are connected in series then if one alternator damaged then, whole alternator that all connected to it will be damage.Interruption will occur.so by connecting parallaly if one alternator will damage, then others are safe and they will supply power to load. Anathor thing is that we can control our power.
