First of all you need a big enough bucket to drain the oil in, then you need a spanner to release the sump plug normally it is a 15mm spanner or a 10mm Allen key depending of the manufacture of the car the size could very.
firstly you need to undo the top (also the place where you re-fill) bung on the transfer case. then undo the bottom bung and allow the oil to drain. i would recommend flushing with 500mls of oil to clear any scum. re screw the bottom bung and fill with 1.3lts of the recommend oil of the brand you choose. as a rule you fill till the oil starts to weep from the fill bung.
