Since your generator must be ready for use in any weather, Mobile One 0w40 is an excellent choice. Try to change every 50 hrs if no filter, 100 with filter. However, you can push to 100 hrs to get you through the outage using the synthetic 0w40 without a filter...keep an eye on the level though if it is a fairly recent machine, made in the last 10-15 years, it may have a low oil shutdown. Do not run over 100 hrs, and only to get you through a storm...50 hrs is recommended.
Use the exact weight of oil recommended by the manufacture of your generator and nothing else which may not be 0w40 weight or may be. I do recommend you use Synthetic oil in any air cooled engine. Any major brand will provide great protection.
The generator should have come with an owner's manual that lists the type of oil. Also, the oil refill may list the oil weight to use.

The oil capacity of a 13hp Briggs and Stratton engine typically ranges from 48 to 64 ounces, depending on the specific model. It's important to check the owner's manual for the exact capacity and recommendations for oil type. Always ensure the engine is on a level surface when checking or adding oil.
SAE 5w30 Full Synthetic.
SAE 10W30 synthetic oil.
A 3406 Caterpillar diesel generator should not present any oil consumption. The generator could consume one quart of oil per 100 hours and not be considered unusual.
SAE 10w30 Synthetic.
Use 100% synthetic oil in the exact weight as recommended by the manufacture of the engine.
MGS1500HV is the oil pressure for a 1500KVA generator.
The Onan 5500 generator typically has an oil capacity of about 1.5 quarts (or approximately 1.4 liters). It's important to use the recommended oil type as specified in the owner's manual for optimal performance. Always check the oil level before operation and change it according to the maintenance schedule to ensure the longevity of the generator.
this generator capacity of oil is 1.2 us quarts
Yes, you can use 5W-30 oil in a 13hp Briggs and Stratton engine, as it is within the recommended viscosity range for many outdoor power equipment engines. However, it's always best to consult the owner's manual for specific oil recommendations and to ensure optimal performance. Using a multi-viscosity oil like 5W-30 can provide better lubrication in varying temperatures. Just make sure the oil meets the necessary API service classification.
