Do not let them get down to the rivets. On disc brakes they have a warning tab installed.
replace sensor when pad repacement is done
you cant its built into the brake pad itself and will indicate a worn pad. you can get the warning mapped out of your ecu to enable you to use unsensored brake pads, usually its a faulty cable on the passenger side brake pad (the only one). just remove wheel and check
Your bike brake pad may be rubbing against the wheel due to misalignment or wear and tear. Check if the brake pad is properly positioned and adjust it if needed. If the pad is worn out, replace it to prevent further rubbing against the wheel.
That could be the brake pad "squealers". They are designed to squeal when they are worn out. Time for a brake job.
If you are reffering to the end that connects to the brake system(pad, rotor, caliper) then it is almost always contected to the pad. Some are permanently molded into a pad, thus you would need to buy a new pad and contect the lead wire to that pad, or there is usually a place on the pad itself (including the steel backing plate that hold the pad material) where the wear sensor clips into. -Brake Engineer
Brake pads worn or dirt lodged in brake pad
Common causes of brake shudder include warped brake rotors, uneven brake pad wear, worn suspension components, and improper wheel alignment.
The most obvious thing is worn brake pads. The squeaking is the worn brake pad warning device. Can also be a defective wheel bearing. In inspect the brake pads.
Chirping means the brake pads are worn out. That is a warning device built into the brake pad. Replace the brake pads.
It could be the brake pad "squealers". Many brake pads come with a device that will squeal when the pads are worn down and ready for replacement.
These wires are normally for the Brake Pad Wear Sensors which tell the ECU ( or Brain !) that the brake pads are worn low and need replacing. I would say VERY important !!!!
Have your brake pads checked. If the squeaking sound stop when you apply the brakes it may be your brake pad wear indicators rubbing the rotors to warn you to have your brake pads replaced. If you ignore it damage will result when the rotors and metal brake pad backing or rivets rub after the brake pad linings are worn away.
