bad head gasket , warped head , etc.
antifreeze leaking into the oil pan
Blown headgasket
Check all the coolant hoses and pipes, especially where they connect (top and bottom of the radiator, connections to the engine and water pump). If there is no antifreeze in the oil registered on a dipstick, are you sure the antifreeze isn't just trickling down the side of the engine?? If it is doing this it will gather at the seal of the oil pan and travel to the lowest point, where it will then spill over, looking very much like it is leaking from the oil pan when in fact the leak is elsewhere.
yes, if you have coolant in the oil the oil doesn't give the rod bearings the lubrication that they need, they then overheat, and fail.
If you have antifreeze coming out of your oil pan you're in trouble. Knock comes from poorly combusting gas/air mixture in the cylinders. Engines need oil to lubricate the pistons moving in the cylinders and the crankshaft, gears and mechanisms controlling the valves. If you have antifreeze coming out of your oil pan, that probably means you have a cracked engine block because antifreeze circulates in the cooling system, which is supposed to be entirely separate from the oil circulating. More likely is that the antifreeze is leaking out of one of the pipes or hoses, especially at connecting points, and dribbling down the side of the engine to the oil pan at the bottom of the engine, and it just looks like it has come out there. If the engine loudly knocks all the time it may be a thrown rod.
hi you have to remove the oil pan then go to autozone or oriley and tell them you need a oil pan gasket for 96 dodge neon then you would place blue siacone on the oil pan ,then you would place the gasket on the oil pan ,make sure that you can see the screw holes ok very easy.
You have a blown head gasket i would not drive it until it has been fixed
First DON'T START THE ENGINE If you start the engine the antifreeze will be in the oil filter also Drain the oil out of the oil pan Take some new oil and pour it into the engine a few times and just let it drain out of the engine oil pan Replace the engine oil pan drain plug and then put the proper type of engine oil in ( less the amount the engine oil filter holds ) If you haven't started the engine you should be okay
Yes, simply drain some of the water from the system. Usual way is from the drain valve at bottom of most rads.
same thing happened to me. it is the antifreeze return line. rubber hose. access the oil filter spot and connects radiator to water pump i think.
Oil spread on a pan due to a reaction with the metal of the pan. This reaction causes the oil to spread and make a coating on the pan. This helps to prevent foods from sticking.
Your oil pump is located at the bottom of your motor just underneath the oil pan. you will have to remove the oil pan to get at the oil pump. make sure that if you are going to take the oil pan off replace the oil pan gasket. please remember to drain the oil before taken the oil pan off. I would recomend cleaning the oil pan out while you have it off and you can also add a magnet inside your oil pan to collect any harmfull metals that might wind up in your oil or you could buy a drain plug that is magnetic.
