When you turn on the A/C the engine RPMs drop slightly. If this causes the dash light to dim slightly then I would suspect your alternator is weak or the drive belt is slipping. Check the belt and adjust or replace as necessary. Also check the output of the alternator with the engine running at idle. You should get a reading of 13.5 to 15.5 volts on a digital volt meter.
Check the fuses and the bulbs.
These could all be symptoms of a very low battery.
Possible bad headlight switch. The switch is actually 2 switches in one. One side turns on the headlights and the other contacts turn on the tail lights which also feed the instrument panel through usually a 5 amp fuse.
To fix the 1995 Suburban instrument lights, check the light fuse first. Check the light switch. If these are ok, then check the instrument cluster for proper power and ground connections.
I assume you referring to the instrument panel lights,,, first remove the dash ,,,and the remove the screws for the panel,,, then flipping the panel over you find the plug sockets for the small bulbs,,,some twist quarter turn >
Check parking light fuse - should be the same circuit
At the front and rear turn signal lights. The turn signal flasher relay is located, RIGHT of steering column, mounted to bottom of instrument panel carrier. The Hazard flasher relay is located LEFT of steering column, mounted to bottom of instrument panel carrier
I had a similar problem with a Pontiac some years back. It was a bad dashboard ground. It may not be it, but I would start there.
There are several fuses relating to the lighting. The fuse panel is at the left end of the instrument panel (drivers side). Open the divers door and look about armrest high to locate the fuse panel cover.
The is a small button in the center of the headlight switch that pops out when you depress it. Simply turn the small button to raise or lower the dash lights.
No, the turn signal flasher relay is locatedbehind the center of the instrument panel.
