A 2007 Mini Cooper S uses a Purolator L15465 oil filter. It is designed to trap small particles in the oil before it can damage the engine.
Purolator builds a filter that will fit your Mercury. 4 cylinder uses the PL10241 V6 uses the PL24651

On a 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with a 5.7 Liter V8 it uses a Purolator L15313 oil filter.
I would go to any auto parts store that sells Purolator oil filters like Advance Auto Parts. Just have the model B&S filter that the engine uses and they can cross reference it for you.

Valvoline filters are made for almost every vehicle. Of course Valvoline does not make filters. The filters are made by Purolator for Valvoline and there name is placed on the filter.
This engine uses a cartridge filter and is situated in an aluminum cover on the right side from the front of the engine.
