One at at time:)
Oh, absolutely, friend! You can replace rear air shocks with gas shocks on your 1991 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue. Just make sure to choose shocks that are compatible with your vehicle's make and model. Take your time, enjoy the process, and soon your car will be riding smoothly again.
no, not at all replace the front when the time comes..
Most likely cause is a leak. Could be a shock or a line.
rear bags are bad or there is a leak going to the rear. you can check at the pump and see if the tube for the rear came off.
It has the air ride suspension and you have a leak somewhere in the system. You will have to find and repair the leak.
Turns the airshocks on/off, the only time you need it is if you're putting the car up on the lift. If you do not turn them off before lifting, the rear shocks will compress and the car will appear to have blown rear shocks until you start it and the airpump kicks on.
The cost of the shocks is going to be anywhere from $55 to $85 each. If a professional is doing the replacement, there will also be a labor charge from them for their time and knowledge. If doing the replacement oneself, please refer to a manual on the proper way to replace the shocks to prevent unintentional damage to the vehicle.
Well, if you're experiencing a lot of bouncing when you go over bumps, it's time for new shocks. Excessive leaning in turns can be an indicator too. The old rule of thumb, is to push down hard on the fender (in your case, the rear fender) and let go after it goes as far down as it's going to. If it bounces up and down more than once or twice, it's time for new shocks. FriPilot
You have a leak somewhere.
First off its almost impossible but with a little time and research you can do it.. Most importantly you have to find a rim with a positive offset.. I believe +15 or more otherwise the rims will stick out too far.. Youll need skinny tires like 40 series and maybe change the rear air shocks out and make sure they dont leak so the back end stays up
Something is wrong with the rear air shocks- either it is the shocks them selves or most of the time the air pump... But first check your fuse to the air pump. see owners manual for fuse location.
