For a 2000 Volvo S40, it is recommended to use copper core spark plugs, specifically NGK BPR6ES or equivalent. These plugs provide optimal performance for the vehicle's engine, ensuring efficient combustion and reliable starts. It's important to check the owner's manual for any specific requirements or recommendations based on the engine variant. Always replace spark plugs in sets to maintain balance in engine performance.
The PCV valve on a 2004 Volvo S40 is located on the engine crankcase. It is a small rubber valve.

They should be under the top cover of the engine - no spark plug wires, only some kind of springs that make the contacts.
There is a little box underneath the bonnet. Inside are the spark plugs and fuses, find the one you want to replace and give it a mighty pull until it comes out. the push the new one in.
where is the blower motor resister located on an 2004 s40
to change the plugs you must take off the spark plug boots..you then take the spark plugs out with a 5/8 sparkplug socket..put the new plugs in the holes and finger tighten them a little(with the socket and extension so that it doesnt cross thread)it might also be wise to replace the wires if they look bad or cracked..
Remove the plastic cover that is to the oil filler cap, it will a torx bit. Be careful when removing the Spark plug wires the coils are connected to them and they arre bolted down. You will need a 8" extension to get the plugs out, I think you will need a 5/8 spark plug socket. Remove old plugs. gap new plugs and install in reverse as removing them.
