Michelin MXV4 if it was a V6.
replace your struts and use nice tires like the michelin energy mxv4 s8 for your 17" wheels
for the stock tire size, I have ad Michelin Exalto on my 97 e320, much better than the stock Michelin MXV4 Energy tires. I have been using the Exalto for 34,000 miles and almost three years. I would buy these tires again.

According to Auto Guide, the best performance tires are Michelin Primacy MXV4, Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S, Nokian WR G2, and Bridgestone Turanza Serenity. The best all-season tires for ultra-high performance are Pirelli P Zero Nero All Season, Cooper Zeon RS3-A, and Sumitomo HTR A/S PO1. The best summer tires for ultra-high performance are Michelin Pilot Super Sport, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric, Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT, and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2.
I just put Michelin P215 60 HR 16 Primacy MXV4 tires on our 2004 Sebring Convertible GTC with stock wheels. Car drives and handles much better.
Certainly, the tire manufacturer doesn't make a differance, just the tire size. Michelin make a great car tire, and they are one of the longest lasting "car" tires that can be placed on a car. I'm a diesel mechanic that deals with lots of different types of Tractor trailer tires, and I found Mich's are horrible for tractor trailers, but great (and the only tires I personally use) on my own car.
The Goodyear Assurance TripleTred provide the best traction, have a long life span, and handle perfectly in all weather conditions. The Michelin Primacy MXV4 include a 60,000 mile warranty and are noted for their long life span. The Yokohama Avid TRZ is also a very good brand for only a fraction of the price that most tires cost.
Oh, dude, if you're looking for a smooth and quiet ride in your SUV, you might wanna check out brands like Michelin, Bridgestone, and Continental. They're known for their noise-reducing technology and all that fancy stuff. But hey, if you're blasting music in your car all the time, does it really matter? Just saying.
Most people would go with something cheap. Bad idea. I have done some research and have a 2000 V6 accord as well. You wanna stick with a V or H rated tire. I had someone put on some S rated hydro tires and let me tell you... after 3 hours I knew I made the wrong decision. Do you need to stick with Michelin? That is up to you. I got the H rated Michelin MXV4 Plus sine the V rated are a bit more expensive and have not seen a difference in performance. If I didn't find a deal on the Michelins I would have gone with Kuhmo Solus KH16. Hard to find, but inexpensive. After that.. would have gotten the Falken ziex 512. if you want some good reviews... goto tirerack.com Good luck
