Float is stuck , carb need a good cleaning. If you get lucky might get away with a good in tank carb cleaner. Good luck
Mcculloch Leaf blower wont run without the choke on?
You might check your primer bulb. Mine was cracked and the only way it would run was with the choke on about half way. I changed the primer bulb -- problem solved. Hope this helps.

Well, I just figured out why my Toro Weedwacker wouldn't run, The fuel hoses were backward, My brother had it for a while then told me it stopped running. He apparently tried to FIX it but accidentally reversed the fuel lines so.1. Fuel comes out of the tank and goes directly into the bottom of the Carb,2. Fuel is pulled through the carb from the side tube on the carb into the priming bulb.3. Once the priming bulb is full the fuel is then returned directly to the tank through a hose which protrudes into the tank about 2 ".4. Ran fine after I got the hook up correct.

There could be a few problems. Start with disconnecting the priming line from the carburetor and hold near your ear and push the priming bulb. If no air comes through there's a hole in the priming line or bulb. If that's not the problem then make sure the gas line is not clogged. Drain the gas from the tank and carb, straighten a wire coat hangar and run it through the gas line to see if it is clear. If there is no problems with the priming line and bulb and the gas line then it's most likely the float in the carb that is not working properly. The easy way is to spray carb cleaner in the carb and hope this frees the float. If the machine still doesn't start then you have to take apart the carb and clean it. MAKE SURE that you take special attention to how the "pin" is attached to the float when you take apart the carb. Clean all openings with carb cleaner and Q-Tips and use a sewing needle to clean small openings. If this doesn't work then you're obliged to order a new carb on line. There not expensive. Mine cost me under $30.00 for a Toro 521.

You'll have a total of three fuel lines associated with this saw. The line, in the tank, with the fuel filter attached goes to the fuel pump side fitting of the carburetor. The line, in the tank, that is about only an inch or so in the tank is the return line and originates at the "out" nipple of the primer bulb. And the third and last line goes from the "in" nipple of the primer bulb to the carburetor fitting furthest away from the fuel pump side. Note that the fuel pump side of the carburetor is the side that integrates the throttle idle speed screw." That return fuel line is a booger if you don't have to replace the main fuel line. The orifice is hidden from view UNDER the hole for the main line. However, I got it replaced and the old McCulloch works fine again.
